A Message to our Captains, on Women’s Day

Salaam Captains,

Today is a very important day for us. On the 8th of March, we celebrate International Women’s Day, where we take a moment to honor our mothers, sisters, wives and daughters.

This year I’d like to specially thank the bold women who have helped drive positive change for Careem across the region:

The women who have taken the wheel to steer life in their own direction.

The women who have challenged societal norms and believed in their dreams to live a better life.

The women who have helped us become one of the biggest movers of people, in more than 90 cities across 13 countries.

Without you, this journey would not have been possible.

And so to honor you all and to further our commitment to you, Careem is making a public pledge to sign up 20,000 female Captains to our platform by 2020. Our dedicated female Captain committee here at Careem HQ will help understand what adaptations we might need to make to our business to make Careem a great place for female captains across the region.

We will strive to ensure our working environments cater for both our male and female Captains.

Thank you for joining us in our mission to simplify and improve the lives of people. Together we can change the future for generations to come.

On behalf of everyone at Careem, to all our captains – men and women, Happy Women’s Day!
