Careem has launched operations in the Menoufia and Aswan governorates in Egypt, bringing its services to an extra 5.75m people throughout those two regions.
In Aswan, as well as regular car types, Careem is also offering horse carts and traditional-style Nile boats as transportation options available to order via the app.
Careem now operates in over 20 cities and provinces throughout the country, improving mobility options for millions of people and creating earning opportunities for Captains.
Through the introduction of more diverse vehicles, we are fast becoming the dominant provider of app-based transportation in the region. Alternatives to cars means a range of price points and that means more people can use our service. Part of our mission is to increase mobility for the region and we feel strongly that the benefits of ride hailing should be extended to everyone.
