As a tech-based company, Careem has a range of innovative and tech-enabled initiatives to ensure that your entire journey, from calling a Careem to arriving at your destination, is as safe and comfortable as possible. At all times during your journey Careem maintains a strong focus on efficiently managing in-ride safety.

In the unlikely event that you experience an issue, you are in very good hands.

Customers and Captains can reach our dedicated Safety and Security Operations Centre (SSOC) staffed by our specialist agents 24/7.

The highly-trained SSOC team are able to manage, or in some cases, escalate any issues to our team who are based in our major geographies. Close collaboration between SSOC, our dedicated safety managers and local emergency services ensures timely and appropriate support.

Having world class trust and safety measures – such as Captain background screening, share my ride or call masking – and always enabled emergency support ensures that all trips are as safe as possible. But in the rare instances where there is an incident, we have a medical insurance policy covering captains and customers while in ride.

The insurance policy covers the following:
• Medical expenses
• Ambulance expenses
• Loss of life
• Permanent or temporary disablement
