Careem’s Values Fest 2023 was more than just a connection between colleagues across all of our markets; it was an opportunity to remind ourselves of Careem’s purpose of simplifying and improving lives and building an awesome organisation that inspires. We spent the day focused on our new organisational Values 4.0 that were launched last year and celebrated the people who bring them to life every day.
Our offices were transformed into vibrant stages and we enjoyed a packed agenda of engaging talks, presentations, quizzes, an innovation session, and even a dance-off! One of the most special moments of the day was created by recognising our most dedicated, longest-serving Captains.
A decade of dedication
Our Captains are at the heart of everything that we do at Careem and our teams are constantly searching for more ways to simplify their lives and make it easier than ever for them to access flexible earnings. Their loyalty, dedication, and relentless service are the foundation of our platform and they have truly helped shape the organization.
As a gesture of our gratitude, 11 of our longest-serving Captains received AED18,000 each in support of their children’s education. The gesture was presented by our CEO Mudassir as a token of appreciation for their years of unwavering service.
The Captains that were rewarded for their commitment over a decade were Ghulam Abbas, Saeed uz Zaman, Syed Zulfiqar Hussain Shah, Syed Imran Ali Shah, Muhammad Nauman, Imtiaz Khan, Mukhtar Alam, Jan Iqbal, Abrar Ahmed, Shabeer Medapparmbil, and Inayat Ullah.
All of the Captains hailed from India and Pakistan. From the picturesque valleys of Buner to the bustling streets of Karachi, they have joined Careem to create a better future for themselves and their families, with many funding their kids through university or building homes for their families to live in. During this time they have forged strong friendships with Careem colleagues and played an instrumental role in Careem’s growth.
As Mudassir aptly put it:
Our Captains have taught us a lot of what we know about our business – they have seen the highs and lows with us.
