WFP partners with Careem to deliver food aid in Gaza
Across Gaza and the West Bank, families are facing one of the most severe food crises in recent history. Many are going entire days without eating. Prices have skyrocketed. Fuel is scarce. And for millions, food aid has become the only reliable way to survive.
In moments like this, small actions matter more than ever.
To help meet urgent needs on the ground, Careem has partnered with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to enable in-app donations across the UAE and Jordan through Careem’s Right Click platform.
It’s fast. It’s secure. And most importantly, it can help save lives.
Where your donation goes
WFP is working around the clock to deliver life-saving assistance in one of the most complex humanitarian settings in the world. Since May alone:
- Over 1,200 trucks have carried more than 18,000 metric tons of food into Gaza
- Families have received wheat flour, hot meals, and nutrition supplements
- The agency is aiming to reach 1.5 million people this year
But the need continues to grow.
With food prices rising more than 3,000 times in some areas, and the majority of households now relying entirely on food aid, every donation counts. WFP has already pre-positioned over 116,000 metric tons of food just outside Gaza—enough to feed the entire population for two months—but more is needed to sustain deliveries and reach those still waiting.
How to donate through the Careem app
Making a contribution takes less than a minute:
- Open the Careem app
- Tap ‘Donations’ or look for the Right Click icon
- Select the WFP Gaza Emergency Campaign
- Choose your donation amount
- Tap to confirm and support the delivery of vital food supplies
All donations go directly to WFP’s emergency response.
When giving becomes movement
So far in 2025, Careem customers have contributed over $200,000 to various charitable causes through the app, supporting initiatives ranging from emergency aid to education. This new campaign builds on that spirit, creating a direct link between people who want to help and the organizations doing the work.
It’s a reminder that technology can do more than deliver food, groceries, or rides; it can also deliver relief, resilience, and hope.
Be part of the impact
Every dirham makes a difference. And every action, no matter how small, can ripple outward in ways we don’t always see.
If you’re in the UAE or Jordan, open your Careem app and consider contributing to WFP’s work in Gaza. It’s one tap that can help feed a family, fuel a delivery truck, or make sure a child doesn’t go to bed hungry tonight.
Because some deliveries matter more than others.
